About St. Croix

St. Croix’s history spans the rule of seven nations, each influencing the customs, character, language and architecture of the island. Even today, with modern conveniences, St. Croix retains the old world charm that has vanished on many other islands. The pace is slower, and everyone takes time to stop and smell the frangipani! The average year round temperature is 82° with easterly trade winds to keep you comfortable.

St. Croix is one of the three US Virgin Islands; St. John and St. Thomas are to the north. There are two towns on the island - Christiansted, located on the north shore, is filled with historic buildings with Danish architecture; and Frederiksted, on the west side of the island, has charming Victorian architecture. The Cruzians have many festivals and celebrations all year long; schedule your trip to be “on island” for St. Patrick’s Day, “Jump-Up”, Mango Melee, Mardi Croix, Cruzian Christmas Festival, Boat Parade, Food and Wine Experience, Independence Day, or a lovely Sunset Jazz Festival.

St. Croix has beautiful, white sand beaches and warm, crystal clear waters. The beaches are unique, some quiet coves, and some, like Cane Bay, a world renowned dive site. Snorkeling is easy, for abundant sea life and coral reefs are close to shore. Visitors can relax on the beach, swim, snorkel, SCUBA dive, sail to Buck Island, shop, dine, explore the rain forest, ride horseback, play golf, tennis, take in the historical sites and so much more...You'll never be bored in St. Croix!
